Editing and uploading

Edit your video (optional step)

If you want to, you can edit video on your computer before uploading it. This isn't generally necessary unless your file is in an unusual format or is over 100MB.

  • Windows and Mac computers both come with video editing software built in. See editing software for information.
  • Alternatively, if you have other video editing software installed feel free to use that.
  • Voice over: Most editing software allows you to record a voice over using a microphone connected to your computer. Any standard microphone will do - simply connect it to the mic socket (usually coloured red/pink) on your computer.
  • Saving your file: For the very best results, save your video in MP4 format at 320x240 resolution. However, we can accept a wide variety of formats at almost any resolution. Just make sure that the output file is smaller than 100MB. See our compression tips if your file is too big.

Upload your finished video

  • Wherever you see the option to add video, simply click the 'browse' button and locate your file.
  • You can upload video in almost any common format.
  • Files can be up to 100MB. If your clip is bigger you'll need to edit or compress it in your editing software. See our compression tips for more information.

Congratulations, you're finished!
