Edit Leverndale Hospital 1980s

ORIGINALLY called Hawkhead Asylum, Leverndale Hospital was built for the Govan District Lunacy Board in 1895.
Over the years the south side hospital's role changed from that of an asylum to a psycho-geriatric unit.
The asylum's central 120-ft tower is a well-known landmark on the Crookston skyline.
Miller Homes are transforming the hospital's long-neglected and fire-ravaged central buildings into a new housing development called Tower View.
